Bletchley Trees Res
Scorers - Shandy

On saturday Trees res went, at last away from home, to play the always physical Woughton who had had a mixed start to the season, although in the county cup last week the battered some team 11-0.
So we knew we were going to be in for a tough afternoon, this wasn't help by the fact we were missing 9 players for 1 reason or another.
Trees started in the traditional trees style....slow and lethargic and Woughton dominance produced a goal that i will hold my hand and up and take responsibility. A free kick was floated in to our box and Cloggs didn't track his runner who obliged by opening the scoring. 1-0 Woughton. This seemed to spark the trees into life and a period of great defensive work from the 4 across the back and good possession saw the trees create some decent chances mainly for Matt Bamber, who saw his near post effort saved by the keeper, and Jay who was unlucky not to lift the ball a bit higher over the advancing keeper who saved well. The equaliser came from a long throw from deano that Woughton didn't deal with the ball dropped to Shandy on the penalty spot and after some quick feet slammed the ball into the roof of the net. 1-1 and trees starting to get on top of the game and against the wind, which Woughton were using endlessly in their quest for the long ball that would unlock our resolute back 4. The half dwindled out with the only real chance falling to Rusty who belted a right foot effort goal wards only for it to be blocked by a woughton arm that was raised- surely a pen- but no the ref waved play on.
The second half was a non event with neither side taking the game by the scruff of the neck although trees did miss some notable chances-culprits being Cloggs, Walshy, and in the last minute with the goal gaping and at his mercy- Rusty. A game we feel we did enough to win without playing anything close to our potential. Some decent performances though from Mikey Trigga Jay Sean and MOM Deano along with a really good passion and will to win that will serve us well this season

GAFFA SAYS
We didnt do enough of the easy things well which put us under needless pressure at times, to many touches and poor delivery cost us. A good disire was the main positive to come out from this weeks game.
