The Trees
Res tour of Great Britain continued with a journey
up the M1 to West Haddon. Trees took another strong
squad with 5 subs, which is good considering we were
missing 3 players. Trees started poorly again and
found themselves 1 down in 10 mins for the 2nd game
running (must start better).
Agian we settled down well and stop panicking and
started to play some exellent football. Wayne F pulled
back the deficit with a lovely top corner strike from
the edge of the box. Debuts were given to Jake, Ben
and young Dan all of whom were very impressive. Shawn
and Dave Bartlett were rocks at the back and composed
playing the ball out of defence and not just lumping
it forward. Jez went in goal in the second half, taking
over from Rusty who made a point blank save from a
West Haddon corner. Trees were 2-1 up at half time
after Walshy kind of gave the lead from a free kick
which the keeper dropped into the net for us, it was
nothing more we deserved.
2nd half saw some really good football being played
mainly from closing West haddon down quickly as a
group and breaking quickly, although they did nearly
equalise just after the break from a long ball over
the top but the West Haddon net bulged 3 more times
with strikes from Benson, Ben and Jake.
Oh by the way Deano missed a pen.
GAFFA SAYS
Outstanding performance and a joy to watch. Play like
this next season and we'll not be far from the top.

for their hospitality.Next stop a bit closer to home
as we take on Bally's boys at Tattenhoe on Thursday
